Thanks for your perspective. That is ...Interesting. Thanks for your perspective. That is kind of frustrating. In the U.S., the freedom to go nude in public usually hinges on "public indecency" laws. Of course, a nudist would argue (and correctly) that being naked is not, by itself, indecent.

But this is all subjective. Nude protests are usually defended as "free speech", but if you just want to walk your dog around the block in no more clothing than the dog is wearing, you're entirely subjected to the whims of anyone and everyone who sees you, and whether they like it or not. And given that most people don't see sights like these very often, they're bound to be shocked, if not upset.

And what if someone complains to the police? Our sex offender registry laws (even though I don't think they *should* apply in this case) are so severe as to be a very effective discouragement to (allegedly) free citizens expressing their individual liberty.

I think people should expect to encounter a challenging display of diversity in shared public spaces, in a free country, but instead there is this troubling assumption that everyone has to put on a mask and behave as innocuously as possible so as to minimize the risk of upsetting anybody else's overinflated sensibilities. Free country? Hardly seems like it.zharthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09995423745639356980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6385675070003697250.post-23902948045344859922018-08-31T04:08:40.564-04:002018-08-31T04:08:40.564-04:00no, you are not wrong. like many nudists, i have b...no, you are not wrong. like many nudists, i have believed for a while now that public nudity should be 100% legal. its legal already in quite a few European countries, admittedly in various different degrees, expecially The Netherlands. its also not illigal here in the UK to be nude in public unless it causes offence, and there lies the problem. i can be naked in public but if someone complains, i have to get dressed!!!quasar1967https://www.blogger.com/profile/12583046993573619546noreply@blogger.com
