On The Scale

It's time for some more Why Nudism? outtakes - from my latest shot in the series! I'd say we're about 3/4 of the way through this project, depending on how many of my remaining ideas I'll be able to shoot - I've come up with several new ones since I started, but some of them are going to be impossible to realize. It's funny to think that I had originally envisioned this as a summer project, yet here we are in December! If I'm lucky, I'll be able to end it with a shot in the snow!

  1. I love reading your blog. but I hate feeling like my corneas are burning out of my eyes due to the black background. A common but fixable mistake in website design.

    1. Thanks for your feedback. Personally, it's never bothered me, and I like the darker colors, but I'll take that into consideration. You're not the first person to mention it.

    2. Hey thanks for the response and tweaking your site a little just from my comment. Didn't help though :/ Maybe my eyes are abnormal. but as a experiment, read one of your slightly longer text post for a few minutes or so. Then look away at a white wall. blink a few times. Do you see lines of phosphine ghosts on your wall? Then try it with another site with a light background. See what i mean? or am I talking nuts.

    3. I don't doubt what you're saying is true, and you're not alone. (I've heard similar accounts from other people). But either the effect is not as prominent for me, or else it just doesn't bother me - I've spent hours reading and rereading text on this blog with no trouble. I suppose the ideal solution would be an optional alternate theme for those who don't like the darker colors, but I'm not sure how to implement that in Blogger at this time.

    1. Thanks for chiming in! I think you and I are in the minority (a lot of sites are citing a poll in which only 10% of respondents said they prefer a dark background, versus 47% who prefer a light one), but it's heartening to know that I'm not alone in my sometimes [admittedly] eccentric preferences. Still, I don't want the presentation of my blog to be a barrier preventing potential readers from digesting the content within. So I've switched to a Lightroom-similar theme that preserves the darker aesthetic I like while compromising with slightly less textual contrast (i.e., grey on grey instead of white on black). Perhaps it's not the solution some are looking for, but it's one that I can live with.

    1. Holding steady at 130, which is, as far as I'm concerned, my ideal weight. A whopping 45 pounds lighter than I was a few years ago when I decided that I really needed to trim down. Couldn't be happier now!
